At Napenda Adventures, we believe sustainability is a shared responsibility. Today, we are taking another step in our journey of sustainability in travel by working harder to reduce our impact on the environment.
Over the past 2 years, our carbon credits program has been an important part of our safaris. It has helped us compensate for the emissions from our safari vehicles, and helped travellers make better choices for their travel plans to Tanzania. Now, we are expanding this effort to cover more of our operations.
We know tourism has an impact. We are taking responsibility for that and aiming to do more. By compensating for our emissions, we hope to protect the landscapes, wildlife, and communities that make Tanzania so special, and that make our amazing travel products possible.
Starting 2025, all safaris operated by Napenda Adventures will include a transparent calculation of the estimated emissions generated from our safari vehicle use as well as the emissions generated from a traveller’s stay at the various hotels and lodges across Tanzania. The total emissions for an entire safari will be compensated for through carbon credits.
This work is possible through our collaboration with Carbon Tanzania. Carbon Tanzania generates value for Tanzania’s economy and its people by producing nature-based carbon credits that enable people to earn revenues from the protection of their natural resources. These verified emissions reductions allow global businesses with credible decarbonisation and nature-positive strategies to invest in a locally produced nature-based solution that serves the climate, communities and wildlife.
